I wonder what the life of a deep sea fisherman (or woman) is like. I saw this particular sailing vessle last August on Prince Edward Island...and was half tempted to hop on board and wait for the captain, so that I might share an afternoon chat with him about his way-faring-ness. Though I imagine it's probably a tourist operation...

tour of hope (and reflection)
The Tour of Hope happened a few weeks ago. A group of very determined people biked across the country in the name of cancer research. Amazingly, the day brought with it a cloudless sky and an ideal occasion to reflect on the unique beauty of Pittsburgh, and the excitement of Lance Armstrong leading a team of 5 riders through PNC Park. A landmark event I daresay.
Though this picture is hum-drum, and the net lines are annoying to no end - this image strikes a chord for me. It makes me think of the people cancer has claimed, the people that have fought it off, and how there are people out there right now (maybe even me) where cancer is trying fiercely to grab a foothold on precious cells and proliferate out of control. A mighty predator - one that some people don't often consider. Times like these remind me that life isn't so easy for some people, but remind me with even more conviction that hope lies within every heart. be free, be strong, and for god's sake - be hopeful. Optimism is a strong elixir.

Shoe Album
It's funny to look a something as simple as a shoe and realize you've had them for over 3 years. These things (with me in them) have been hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, they've been all along the streets and country of England, Scotland, and Wales...not to mention trudged through gail force winds on Tintagel and through sand and ocean at the opening of Merlin's cave. Shoes, like anything else i suppose, are soaked with memories.
